Brillo GoogleBrillo, the Android-based OS for the Internet of Things, will be launched at the the Google I/O conference in San Francisco at the end of May.

This operating system should be lightweight enough to require only 32/64 MB of RAM to run; it could be used with door locks, sensors, monitors, light bulbs, smart electronic equipment and so on.

The idea of the interconneted home is in Apple‘s mind as well. Apple announced that it will launch in June 2015 the HomeKit platform and the first devices for the smart home, and the new iOS9 should include “Home”, the app specifically designed to centrally manage any HomeKit-compatible device.
