Free Wi-Fi on French trains from 2016 SNCF train Wi-FiFree Wi-Fi in SNCF trains, from 2016.

The general direction of SNCF (France’s national state-owned railway company) presented yesterday its digital strategy and announced SNCF will invest 450 million Euros in digital innovation.

Users will be able to connect to the internet from their smartphones and tablets even on TGV trains. WiFi on the Paris-Lyon line will be available at the end of 2016. Tests will be conducted from June 2015.

In the meantime, the SNCF wants to empower 2G, 3G and 4G coverage on its lines.

Wi-Fi will be available also in the train stations, all around France.
