Since Tanaza Firmware version 2.5.x, you are able to write a custom script and make it run on any Tanaza Powered AP.

See instructions >>

Script are for expert users only: code responsibly!

We suggest to you four different uses of custom scripts:

1. WEB CONTENT FILTERING

You can turn on a third party service for DNS-based web content filtering. We suggest Rawstream or OpenDNS or another service (read this article for a complete list of tools for DNS content filtering).

Thanks to the custom script, you can enable DNS-based web content filtering using a dynamic public IP (without having static public IP for your WAN connection). The Web filtering service will be active for all wired and Wi-Fi clients connecting to the Access Point.

2. DISABLE THE RESET BUTTON OF THE ACCESS POINT

If a customer pushes the reset button, the access point loses its configuration of the ports. The access point resets.

If you want to avoid this case, you can disable the reset button. The disadvantage is that you cannot bring the AP to its factory default configuration, as you cannot reset it.

3. CREATE A WMN (WIRELESS MESH NETWORK)

Thanks to the custom scripts you can create a mesh network, where only some APs are wired and the connection is spread out among mesh nodes.

4. ENABLE THE POE OUT ON MIKROTIK ROUTERBOARD RB951Ui-2HnD

The Mikrotik  Routerboard RB951Ui-2HnD has a PoE function on port #5: it can power other PoE capable devices, with the same voltage as applied to the unit. The maximum load on the port is 500mA.

If you want to enable the PoE out on your Tanaza Powered Mikrotik Routerboard, you can use a custom script.
